Some friends and there awesome rigs met up with the fugly Chevy in sunny side @ 6am sat and headed up to north fork wenas

the first hill was a little challenging for the boggers but he was able to push on threw.

we continued going up until we got to a very steep short section where some of the rigs just couldn't find traction. they made several attempts and finally had to except defeat allowing the cable to assist.

We continued to push further in and the snow continue to get deeper.

we finally made it to the trail head.

the toyota pickup with 44 boggers did not make it. He started building to much heat from to much skinny pedal. so one of the buggys and the fugly took him down to the bottom road, he headed on down to the trailers from there. We turned around and made good time back to the trail head.

It didn't take long to catch the group on the trail. The sun was out and the snow was getting very soft and unpredictable.

We got to the first trial head that drops down to the main road 1701 and the snow was getting super heavy, the 505 Toyota pealed one of his front torque arms off, Luckly one of the guys had a ready welder so the repair was on it way.

One of the buggys and the 4runner went on up to the top another 100 yrds I don't think the buggy even noticed the snow was deep.

After the repair was made it was time to head back. we made it as far as we were going to.
It Was a awesome day with super nice rigs and great people .

I don't know if you would call the Toyota pickup a Land Cruiser but the 505 is. that thing was so cool to watch walking out across deep snow!

When your tires are almost as tall as a short human (me at 5'7") you should walk everywhere in the snow.....

You don't see many FJ40/FJ45 Land Cruisers on the trails these days. I parked my FJ40 and down-graded to an XJ a few years ago because I got tired of looking like the red headed step child on the trails. It's nice to see that other people know about these cool Toyota rigs. Maybe I will dust off my FJ40 and wheel it again without fear of being looked at like I was wearing red zipper pants. :laughing6:

That 505 is one serious rig. Dennis and I started wheeling way back when my bronco and that cruiser were both stock. Mine is still kinda a bronco but he got out of hand, lol. That rig has been through several complete transformations and I think the only stock parts left are a couple feet of frame rails and a few body panels, and even their modified. It works real good now, but with a truck like that he has to try pretty hard to find challenging stuff since it will go just about anywhere you might want to go. Pretty cool though.
