RE: Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Outdoor Recreation Guide / Map

The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the production of our seventh edition of the Yakima County Outdoor Recreation Guide.

The Recreation Guide is a map that covers all the mountainous areas of Yakima County that are used for various types of Outdoor Recreation. Included on the map are the White Pass and Chinook Pass areas of the Naches Ranger District including the Wilderness areas, the south portion of the Cle Elum Ranger district, the Ahtanum State Forest, the western portion of the Wenas area and the western portion of the Cowiche Drainage?

Included on the map are the Naches Ranger District Boundaries, Green Dot Boundaries, the Yakima County Boundary, Forest Service roads, private roads, 4 Wheel Drive / ATV Routes, motorcycle trails, hiking/horse trails (non-motorized), camping areas, snow parks, snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails, open green dot roads, closed green dot roads, Game Management Units and color coded land ownership.

We have been working with the Yakima County GIS Department, US Forest Service, Washington Department of Natural Resources, and other land managers to produce the best map available.
The maps are again printed on a waterproof and tear resistant paper that is great for those who will be using the maps in inclement weather; on cold and wet hunting trips, out on the snowmobile or on the cross-country ski trail.

The maps will sell for $10.00 total price and are available at the following places:
