Peak Putters 3 ball at the Dunes - Jan 15 2012

The guys were getting restless from lack of wheeling. Most of our little club had not had the rigs out since the Thanksgiving Freeze Your Bunz Run, and some since way before that.

So, One of our club officers, Jim, called a run for a little 3 ball out at Juniper Dunes.

Here's how 3 ball works:

You place 3 (we used 4) posts similar to baseball tees out in your terrain. . .we chose to perch them precariously on sandy knolls. Then, your passenger has to place a ball on each of the tees without leaving his/her seat....after all the balls are placed, the driver has to repeat the course and retrieve all the balls. The clock stops when the last ball is retrieved. If a ball is knocked off the tee, the clock keeps rolling and the penalty is the time it takes to stop and retrieve it. The rigs cannot move until all seat belts are fastened to avoid a DQ.

We chose to use 4 Tees in roughly the shape of a baseball diamond. Screamin' Toylet built bases 1-3 and I used a baseball tee for home plate. There would be two winners. Fastest time and time closest to a predetermined time. . .everyone got three timed runs after a practice run.

I must say, this was the most fun I have had in the Jeep in quite some time. We even drew the attention of the local Sheriff Deputy out in their new Humvee. He watched and BS'd with us for awhile. I will post some pictures, but they don't do justice to the amount of fun and the pace of the game. Dale took some vids that will hopefully be good enough to post later.
