4th of July at Rimrock - July 2008

Spent the holiday at Rimrock Lake wheeling and here are some of the pictures from the holiday weekend.

Dusty broke a axel U-joint in a hole after the bridge. I towed him out to the road so he could head to town for replacement U-loints.

A bit off camber on a steep down hill decent slid myback end off the trail a bit. We hooked me to Frank (Blue Landcruiser) to pull my back end over as i got back on the trail.

Bridges are in need of some major maintenance. it will not be long before this one is completely gone, as there is water run off going under the bridge.

Dusty though he could fit between these tees, he was wrong. Del had to winch him out and Hi-lift his a$$ end to get him out. He stripped the teeth off of his pinion gear trying to get out, so that made our day a bit shorter on the trail.
We headed back to camp after this.

I didn't see any torn up bridges. they are in need of Maintenance. most Bridges of that style in this area are just as wide as a cj so if you do not hit them perfect you will get crossed up. it adds to the challenge and I have seen a few people end up 1/2 way on the bridge, just gotta be careful :dontknow:

He has full size axels that are cut down 4.5 in.

I didn't see anything wrong here. Rimrock trails are very tight through the trees and even some of the narrowest rigs come home with a little bark stuck in them. With that said I am glad to see wheelers looking out for the sport. Get ahold of me or Coleman and we will be happy to let you know what kind of things to look for. :thumbright:

We ran trails 637,677,661, and 641. All these trails are labeled as "Most Difficult", and were pretty tight in many places.

There was one portion of the 661 trail (hill climb that went towards Blue Lake) that we did not do for the hill was to steep with out winching all the way up. Del tryied to go up the hill (after the guys from Timber Tamers came down) but could not get more than 15 feet up the hill (he is locked up on all four and is very capable).

You can tell a local by what they call or describe an area.

A Local Yocal: will describe an area by it's name (nickname).
Example: Spencer Creek, Short and Dirty, Leaning Tree.

An Outsider (Westsider like me): will describe an area by the trail number (untill we run them enough).

Half the guys in the Jeep club are locals of Yakima and Sunnyside and the call all the trails by there name not number. Untill i become more familar with the trails i will refer to my map, and call them by number.
