We decided to try to get to tollgate again but this time we went up mill creek out of walla walla. When climbing up it looked liked like the snow might be gone, the sun was out and it was real nice.

as we gained altitude we could see snow and a few corners later we had our first stuck. Brad in the silver truck hit the snow with street pressure in his tires to see how that worked and sank like a stone. Here is his dad pulling him out.

on the way to the top there was some fun snow to drive on and many lines to try,

with more altitude we drove into the clouds and it got real dark and cold. We were still a ways from the skyline intersection when the road got bad, the drifts pushed the edge of the road right next to a substaintial drop of no return that no one wanted to slide off of.

at this point we walked out a ways to scout the trial but the last guy that had passed almost slid of the edge so unless we got shovels out and dug a new tire path it was not real safe and visibility was poor.

So we headed back down, we found another road and headed down it until it was unclear which way the road went so we headed back to the main road when we got our next stuck, Dave was distracted for just a second and slid right off the road, oops.

Now that we know we cant make it to tollgate today we ate lunch and played around a bit then headed over to goverment mountain to see how much of the snow had melted, there was still plenty to play in but daves truck had an angry water pump that was very near failure so we headed home from there. He made it almost to burbank when the pump failed and we towed him in on the strap. Heres some random pics from the trip,

Here is the pile of garbage we collected when we stopped to air up.

I sure wish people would pack that **** out, if they had room to bring it they had room to take it out. Great trip even without getting anywhere near our destination. I guess we will have to try one more time. Thanks for looking. Mike M
