Selah Community Days
Kiwanis Pancake Feed, Parade and Other Fun
Report by Amanda Graham / Selah Adventures – A division of Eastern Washington Adventures.
On Saturday May 17th, 2014 we at Selah Adventures went to cover the third day of Selah Community Days. Selah Kiwanis put on a Pancake Feed at the Selah Civic Center from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. They served pancakes, ham, and scrambled eggs.
After the breakfast we went and watched the Selah Community Day Parade. The Parade started at 10:00am and went until about 12:00pm. We covered the parade from in front of the stage were Kelly West from 94.5 KATS
, and Rik Mikals from 92.9 The Bull
were announcing the parade entries as they came by. The Marines Veterans, the Fire Department and the Police started it off. Following them were school bands, dance groups, Jeep, motorcycle and car clubs, Royalty Floats from all over, and much more.
After the parade we went to the Lince Field for the 3rd day of the carnival. Selah Boy Scout Troop 275 were parking cars making it easy to come and go. There were carnival rides for people of all ages and many having fun.
Next to Lince field at Wixson Park there were food booths, fundraising booths, and much more. D.C. Bound was there to raise funds to go to Washington D.C. Mr. Bryan Dibble set up his Military booth also to help D.C. Bound. At about 9:45 the fireworks went off from Lince Elementary.
Right about the time of the fireworks we went to Kings Row for the KFFM Fundraising Dance for Charity.
You could win Lady Gaga tickets by entering. All you needed to do was sign up with a small donation, dance and be present to win! The drawing was at midnight. This was a great way to end the third day of Selah Community Days.
